Black Bear Inn joins Bed &Breakfast tour

Provided to the Tribune

The annual Christmas Tour of the Bed & Breakfast Inns of El Dorado County will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4. This is the 10th annual tour, but will be the first year that Black Bear Inn will be part of the tour. Black Bear is the only B&B on the tour that is located in South Lake Tahoe and as such will be the only inn starting the tour at 11 a.m.

Black Bear Inn, located at 1202 Ski Run Blvd., opened in 1999 and was built by locals Jerry Birdwell and Kevin Chandler. They are excited to be part of this holiday tour which has brought more than 350 people on past tours.

The tour is self-guided and can be started at any one of the 12 locations. Tour-takers will travel from lodge to winery to farmhouse to old Victorian and experience the charm of an old-fashioned Christmas. Each inn will be dressed up for the holidays and will have traditional Christmas music, caroling, eggnog, cocoa or cider, home-baked treats and a warm fire.

Tickets are $15 per person and are valid for both days (allowing you to visit each of the inns one time) and includes a free Christmas ornament for the first 500 ticket buyers. A portion of the ticket sales goes to support Snowline Hospice. Tickets can be purchased by calling (530) 544-445, or stopping by Black Bear Inn, which is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
