The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Monday, March 5

8:35 a.m., 4100 block of U.S. Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe – burglary. About $900 worth of phones, faxes and other office equipment was swiped from an office. American Ski Company, which owns Heavenly, had set up the office inside the former Lake Tahoe Inn. Police said someone entered unlocked room and then pried open a door adjoining the office.

6:59 p.m., U.S. Highway 50 and Sierra Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe – pedestrian hit. A red Ford utility vehicle struck a 16-year-old boy trying to cross the highway on a “No Walk” sign. The boy only scraped his knuckles and required no medical treatment, police said. Lisette Smith, 29, of South Lake Tahoe, was driving the Ford. She reportedly told an investigator the light at the intersection was yellow when she hit the boy. She said he was difficult to see because it was raining and he was wearing dark clothes. Police did not cite Smith.
