The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

7:43 a.m., 971 Silver Dollar Ave., South Lake Tahoe –EA snow stake, which identifies the location of street curbs for snow plows, was used to vandalize three county vehicles, South Lake Tahoe police said. A Ford van received a broken windshield and side mirror, a Ford four-door car received broken windshield and mirror and a Jeep had a broken tail light. The three cars were parked in a lot next to Hoss Hoggs, police said.

8:35 a.m., 3601 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe — Three snowboards, worth about $700 each, were stolen from the top of a 1990 Chevy Blazer parked in front of Tahoe Beach and Ski Club Hotel, South Lake Tahoe police said. The thieves used a blowtorch to bypass the locks, police said. There are no suspects.

9:29 a.m., 2608 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe — Thieves broke windows and doors at the defunct Chateau Suites and took four microwaves, three refrigerators and two hot tubs, South Lake Tahoe police said. For insurance purposes, the owner will repair the the doors and windows prior to demolition, police said.
