The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Thursday, May 9

8:45 p.m., Caesars Tahoe, Stateline — obtaining services under false pretenses. Richard Dominguez, 38, from Yorba Linda, Calif., had a cab pick him up and was driven to Kyburz, a hospital emergency room, Motel 6 and Caesars Tahoe. The fare escalated to $400 but the cab company owner lowered it to $300 so Dominguez could pay, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reported. Dominguez couldn’t pay the fare with his $20 and was arrested for obtaining services under false pretenses.
