Wednesday Sept. 19
9:35 p.m., 209 Kingsbury Grade, Stateline – domestic violence. Bottles thrown in a parking lot in front of Kingsbury Laundry & Dry Cleaners drew Douglas County sheriff’s deputies to the area. Teresa Oliver, 33, of South Lake Tahoe, was arrested on suspicion of hitting a 20-year-old man in the face.
Thursday Sept. 20
9:10 a.m., Caesars Tahoe, Stateline – counterfeit check. A fake check was cashed mistakenly by the casino Aug. 24. A driver’s license number on the document was traced to Sharon Standifer, 24, of Fairfield, Calif., according to Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
Saturday Sept. 22
3 p.m., 400 block of McFaul Way, Zephyr Cove – grand theft. Two necklaces were reported missing from the home of Helen Lane, 85. One of the pieces of jewelry, a 36-inch pearl necklace, was worth $8,000. The other was worth $500 and held a black opal stone.
8:40 p.m., 3115 Jameson Beach Road, the beach near Camp Richardson Resort – boat accident. Gary Werchick, 56, of South Lake Tahoe, was booked on suspicion of driving a boat while intoxicated after deputies found him and his friend laying on the beach injured. The 15-foot 1986 Bayliner driven by Werchick collided with a pier, causing $1,000 damage to the pier and about $2,500 damage to the boat. Werchick and his passenger, William Oliver, 45, of South Lake Tahoe, both suffered cuts on their face, a deputy reported.
Sunday Sept. 23
6:40 p.m., 100 block of Kahle Drive, Stateline – battery. A 21-year-old man from Stateline got punched in the forehead at his girlfriend’s apartment. Douglas County sheriff’s deputies reported a 1-inch gash on the forehead of Dustin Hull. Hull and his girlfriend, Rochelle Despain, 22, declined to press charges against the suspect, an ex-boyfriend of Despain.
8:20 a.m., 3400 block of Beaver Brae Road, Meyers – assault with a deadly weapon. El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies arrested Peter Ballachey, 50, after a woman said he put a knife to her throat and threatened to burn her house down. The 50-year-old woman had an emergency protection order filed against Ballachey but it expired the day of the alleged attack.
