Monday Sept. 24

1 a.m., Caesars Tahoe, Stateline – grand theft. More than $2,800 worth of jewelry was taken from luggage left with the bell desk at a casino, according to the owner of the jewelry, Janet Ankley, 45, of Roseville, Calif. Tuesday Sept. 25

11:39 p.m., Kahle Drive and Michelle Drive, Stateline – possession of marijuana and a firearm. Douglas County sheriff’s deputies stopped a silver 1985 Chevrolet Celebrity for speeding on Kahle Drive. The driver, Jesse Stone, 20, of Stateline, told the deputy there was a rifle and shotgun in the trunk because he had been out shooting in the desert the day before with David Dempster. Dempster, 18, of South Lake Tahoe was a passenger in Stone’s car. Dempster had been convicted of possession of stolen property in the past and was not allowed near a gun. He was booked on suspicion of being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and for a pipe he had that had marijuana residue in it.
