The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Tuesday Sept. 4

8:23 a.m., 1963 Tucker Ave., South Lake Tahoe – truck theft. A Dodge Ram pickup owned by A-1 Glass Service sustained major damage when someone took it for a joyride. The truck, worth about $15,000, was found with the keys in it in a ditch off Oneidas Street. The bed of the truck was bent two feet from its frame.



5:29 p.m., 3600 block of Larch Avenue, South Lake Tahoe – burglary. Someone broke into a home and stole $17 worth of dollar coins from a metal change container. Luis Manzano, 30, of South Lake Tahoe, told police that he recovered seven of the $17 from an acquaintance he suspected of the crime.
