The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Monday, Aug. 20

7 p.m., Shepherds Drive and Rocky Point Road, South Lake Tahoe – bike accident. A 7-year-old boy was riding fast when his bike slid on some loose dirt. The boy, Edgar Hernandez, told police he didn’t know why he fell. Hernandez suffered cuts on his hand, forehead and elbow.



1:38 p.m., 1030 Al Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe – petty theft. Security at Albertsons stopped Gregory Harrington, a 51-year-old transient, from stealing $62 worth of cigarettes and vodka. An employee saw Harrington put the cigarettes under his shirt and then walk into a bathroom.

Secret Witness offers cash rewards for anonymous tips leading to the arrest and conviction of crime suspects. Anyone with information about crimes reported in California is asked to call (530) 541-6800. In Nevada, call (775) 586-7295.
