Friday Aug. 3
10:50 p.m., Harveys Resort Casino, Stateline – possession of controlled substance. Douglas County sheriff’s deputies on bike patrol spotted a white Chevrolet Tahoe speeding on Park Avenue. They trailed it into the parking garage at Harveys and arrested Aaron Grice, 18, of Clovis, Calif., and Matthew Haggard, 18, of Fresno, Calif. Grice was booked for minor consuming alcohol, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Haggard, the driver, was booked for driving under the influence of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor consuming alcohol.
Sunday Aug. 5
10:55 p.m., Harveys Resort Casino, Stateline – battery and trespass. Douglas County sheriff’s deputies handcuffed Esteban Baro, 19, of South Lake Tahoe, while security at Harveys held him to the floor. Security told deputies that Baro was harassing people in the casino’s arcade and hit three security officers.
Monday Aug. 6
3:25 a.m., Caesars Tahoe, Stateline – sale of a controlled substance. Brian Beedie, 21, of South Lake Tahoe, was arrested when he pulled three small bags of marijuana from his sock, said Douglas County sheriff’s deputies. Beedie told a deputy he was selling marijuana inside the casino so he could pay rent and have his injured ankle checked by a doctor.
6:40 p.m., 3700 Blackwood Road, South Lake Tahoe – assault with a deadly weapon. Police arrested Michael Salemme, 43, of South Lake Tahoe, on suspicion of assaulting a 10-year-old boy with a pocket knife. The boy had injured Salemme’s son during a play fight. Salemme is accused of putting the knife to the boy’s neck, police said.
Tuesday Aug. 7
2:58 a.m., 3400 block of U.S. Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe – grand theft. More than $2,000 worth of goods were stolen from an unlocked Honda Civic parked at Timber Cove Lodge. April Peterson, 20, of South Lake Tahoe, lost a cell phone, 80 compact discs, a compact disc player and her wallet containing $60, police said.
8:30 a.m., Lodi Avenue and Barbara Avenue, South Lake Tahoe – vandalism. A bucket loader owned by the California Department of Transportation and parked inside a locked snow dump had all of its window smashed with rocks. An El Dorado County sheriff’s deputy said the damage was $1,000. The vandalism occurred twice, once on Saturday and then overnight on Monday.
8 p.m., 3793 Montreal Road, South Lake Tahoe – drunken in public. High Sierra Patrol officers found Mark Shreckenqaust, a 43-year-old transient, laying in the woods behind the Colony Inn.
8:25 p.m., 3793 Montreal Road, South Lake Tahoe – possession of controlled substance. Police arrested Michael Witzel, 45, of Seattle after High Sierra Patrol officers found him sleeping in the woods behind the Colony Inn. A police officer found 6 grams of marijuana in Witzel’s jacket.
