The following incidents were selected from among those reported to area law enforcement and fire protection districts.

Sunday July 29

2:40 a.m., 300 block of Maryanne Drive, Stateline – grand theft. An 18-year-old girl told Douglas County sheriff’s deputies that someone stole her black leather wallet from under the driver’s seat of her car. Emma Magelssen said she was missing $775 in cash, credit cards, checks and a small film canister containing marijuana.

Friday Aug. 3

5:45 p.m., Horsetail Falls, Twin Bridges – search and rescue. Someone walked into the Strawberry Lodge at 4:05 p.m. and reported a hiker with a broken arm at the top of Horsetail Falls. Rescue crews climbed to the top of the falls but found no injured hiker. The search was called off at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday Aug. 5

11:42 a.m., 1900 U.S. Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe – DUI accident. Police arrested Ronald Simmons, 55, of South Lake Tahoe on suspicion of driving under the influence and backing his camper into a pickup parked outside NAPA Auto Parts.

2:45 p.m., Eagle Falls Trailhead, Desolation Wilderness – search and rescue. Stephen Mock, 55, of Woodland, Calif., broke his ankle while hiking with his wife between Velma Lake and Eagle Lake. He was flown by helicopter to Lake Tahoe Airport and transported to Barton Memorial Hospital.
