Sunday, April 29

7:10 p.m., 1100 block of Sonora Avenue, South Lake Tahoe – under the influence of a controlled substance. Police arrested Kurt Stanzer, 39, of South Lake Tahoe, after he and a girlfriend twice called police to their home to investigate a burglary. Stanzer reportedly told an officer that someone was crawling around in their ceiling. Police found nothing but did notice that Stanzer had dilated, pulsing pupils and a rapid heart rate. Based on his behavior, an officer arrested Stanza for being under the influence of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Monday, April 30

12:19 p.m., 3800 block of Pentagon Road, South Lake Tahoe – grand theft. More than $2,500 worth of ski and snowboarding equipment was stolen from a home while owners moved property to a Bay area residence. The couple, a 19-year-old man from Cupertino,Calif., and an 18-year-old woman from San Francisco, Calif., had let a friend, 26, stay in their home while they moved. They reportedly told police that the 26-year-old man had a key to their apartment.
