Friday, Feb. 23
12 p.m., Heavenly Ski Resort, Stateline – grand theft. A K2 snowboard worth $700 was swiped from a ski rack outside a cafeteria on the mountain. A 40-year-old man from Round Rock, Texas, who owned the blue and white board left it unattended for an hour, according to an El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputy. Report of the theft was sent to the sheriff’s department by mail.
Wednesday, March 7
1:10 a.m., U.S. Highway 50 and Pioneer Trail, South Lake Tahoe – under influence of a controlled substance. Police arrested Jason Kambic, 21, of South Lake Tahoe, after someone reported that Kambic was wandering around in the snow wearing only pants. An officer arrested the 21-year-old after conducting a field sobriety test.
8:33 a.m., 2200 block of Barton Avenue, South Lake Tahoe – grand theft. Police reported that a television and videocassette recorder worth $350 was stolen from a residence through an unlocked sliding glass door. The 20-year-old woman who owned the electronic equipment reportedly told an officer she was never given the key to the door so she was not able to lock it.
10:33 a.m., 2300 block Tahoe Vista Drive, South Lake Tahoe – grand theft. A green Jeep Cherokee left unlocked had a backpack stuffed with clothing taken from it. Police valued the pack and the items in it at $428. The 38-year-old owner of the Jeep reportedly told police he notice it missing Feb. 22.
1:07 p.m., 1800 block of U.S. Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe – battery. A 31-year-old transient woman reportedly accepted a ride from a boyfriend who, police said, drove her to the parking lot of South Tahoe High School and severely beat her. An investigator reported that the woman had a swollen face, cuts and bruises and possibly a broken nose. She reportedly told police that the man also put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Police said the suspect is from Silver Springs, Nev., and drives a black Ford pickup.
Thursday, March 8
2:47 a.m., 2600 block of Sussex Avenue, South Lake Tahoe – domestic violence. Police arrested 32-year-old Craig Pritchard for allegedly beating Kimberly Gramckow. Officers at the scene on Sussex Avenue could not find Gramckow. Police located her outside a residence at the 3000 block of Spruce Avenue and arrested her for drunken driving. They also booked her for child endangerment because there was a nine-month-old in the car she had been driving. Police said Gramckow had bruises on her upper arms, several scratches on her left biceps and a minor bump on her left wrist.
