Boat safety class offered on Saturday

An all-day boating safety class will be taught Saturday at the Tahoe Keys.

The course provides information on a variety of subjects including introduction to boating, boating laws, personal safety equipment, safe boat handling, navigation, boating problems, and trailing, storing, and protecting boats. Hunting and fishing and river boating also will be addressed.

The four-lesson, eight-hour class was developed by the U.S. Coast Guard. The instructors are members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary flotilla. The $20 class starts at 8:30 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m. It meets at 356 Ala Wai Blvd.
