Bode Miller to skip World Cup races before worlds

SCHLADMING, Austria – Bode Miller has withdrawn from the World Cup slalom in Austria and plans to miss this weekend’s downhill and super-combined in France to rest for next month’s world championships.

Miller had been included in the start list for the slalom at Schladming on Tuesday night. The U.S. team released a statement disclosing Miller’s late withdrawal and change of schedule.

Miller is set to race Feb. 5-6 at Hinterstoder, Austria, the final event before the worlds from Feb. 8-20 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
