Bonanza Park to break ground next week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – From 5:30 to 6 p.m. April 30, Edgewood Companies will join South Lake Tahoe officials, neighbors and community members at a groundbreaking ceremony for Bonanza Park, according to a Monday statement from Edgewood.

The park, located at 1209 Bonanza Ave., will include a children’s play area, grass play area, picnic tables, basketball court and horseshoe toss. It will also include solar lighting, recycling containers, low flow irrigation and native vegetation, according to the statement.

Completion of the park is expected in late June or early July.

In June 2011, the South Lake Tahoe City Council authorized the transfer of Edgewood Companies’ development rights from the former C&M Lodge to a proposed project at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

As a condition of the transfer, Edgewood agreed to construct a park at the site of the former C&M Lodge and donate it to the city.

Edgewood has hired South Lake Tahoe contractor Pat Baginski, of Tahoe Outdoor Living, to construct the park.
