Borges, Byers wed in lakefront ceremony
Lisa Marie Borges and Paul Kevin Byers exchanged wedding vows June 8 on the Tahoe Keys pier. The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed by Glen Reagan and witnessed by 27 family members and friends.
The bride is the daughter of David and Karen Borges of South Lake Tahoe and the bridegroom is the son of Paul and Dorothy Byers of Phoenix, Ariz.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in an ivory-colored, strapless, princess-style gown with drop waist and pearl and crystal beading on the high/low hem. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of stargazer lilies, deep pink calla lilies and blue Dutch iris.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Brooke Borges of South Lake Tahoe.
She wore a short chocolate-colored satin, ruched halter-style dress with drop waist and tired ruffle skirt and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white stargazer lilies and deep pink calla lilies.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner party for the newlyweds at Riva Grill on the Lake.
Upon their return from a one-week wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple established their home in Maricopa, Ariz.
The bride graduated from South Tahoe High School in 2000 and received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2004. She is a high school science teacher in Maricopa.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Norman High School in Norman, Okla. He is employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Maricopa.
