Bowman places eighth at X Games

Maddie Bowman finished eighth in skier halfpipe qualifying at the Winter X Games on Wednesday night in Aspen, Colo.

The South Tahoe High junior was seventh after her first run, posting a score of 73.66.

Bowman wasn’t able to better her first run and dropped to eighth place during the second round. Only the top six finishers advanced to Thursday’s final.

Devin Logan of West Dover, Vt., recorded the top qualifying score at 86.00.

Kevin Rolland of La Pagne, France, won the men’s qualifying with a second-run score fo 95.00. David Wise of Reno was runner-up at 92.66.

Women’s skier halfpipe finals are Thursday night. ESPN 3D will televise the final round during its 6-9 pm. coverage.
