Boys & Girls Club summer program sign-up begins

Sign up now for an affordable and fun-filled summer for your child. The Boys & Girls Club will be offering all-day programs during the 11 weeks of summer vacation for youth ages 5-18.

The summer camps will begin June 22 and end Sept. 4, and will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

There is a price package to fit everyone’s needs, from daily drop-in rates, to weekly rates, to a Super Saver summer pass. Activities include swimming, hiking, arts, crafts, music and more.

With the World of Reading During Summer program, the club will also make sure children don’t lose their edge with their language arts skills. Club members will read books each day and take field trips to the library. This is a great opportunity for students who don’t have the option of attending summer school. Older members will be involved in leadership, job readiness and various community service projects.

To help fund the summer program, the club will hold a sponsorship drive. Community members and businesses will be asked to help ensure that every child has a safe and positive place to make the dreams of hope and opportunity come true this summer.

The club wants to ensure that no child is left home alone this summer. Contributions will provide a matching scholarship to these youth. To learn more about sponsoring a child, enrolling a child, or volunteering, call (530) 542-0838, stop by 1100 Lyons Ave. or visit
