Songwriter Boz Scaggs will bring a career worth of hits to Stateline this weekend.

The Grammy Award-winning vocalist and guitarist plays MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa Saturday, July 16.

“Raised in Texas with an abiding respect for American roots music, Boz Scaggs has crafted a distinctive trademark sound, garnered many accolades and proven himself as one of music’s most creative and original artists,” according to a press release for the show from MontBleu. “He hit it big in 1976 with his critically acclaimed album ‘Silk Degrees’ featuring the smash hits ‘Lowdown,’ which won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Song, ‘Lido Shuffle,’ ‘What Can I Say’ and the ballad ‘We’re All Alone.’

“The newest album in a prolific career, ‘A Fool to Care’ boasts Scaggs’ pioneering blend of rock, soul, jazz and R&B taken to new heights. The inspirational heart of the album lies in the sounds of Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma that played such a vital role in shaping Scaggs’ musical sensibility. The album features two special guests — Bonnie Raitt, whose sassy duet breathes life into ‘Hell to Pay,’ and Lucinda Williams on the elegant closing track ‘Whispering Pines.’”
