Bread & Broth receives $30,000 donation from LTVA

Bread & Broth of Lake Tahoe received a $30,000 donation from the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority from funds raised for local charities during the 20th annual American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.

The LTVA, NBC Sports and American Century Investments sponsor the Lake Tahoe celebrity tournament and have raised more than $3 million for national and local charities, according to a prepared release.

Bread & Broth, a charitable, nonprofit organization whose mission is to feed those less fortunate, has offered 21 years of service to the community of South Lake Tahoe. The funds will go toward the purchase of several energy-efficient appliances modernizing the existing Bread & Broth kitchen.

This year’s tournament raised a total $160,463 in donations. Other recipients of $30,000 donations include The Boys & Girls Club and Tahoe Youth & Family Services. Another $70,000 from the tournament will be distributed among other South Lake Tahoe organizations.

Next year’s American Century Championship will be held July 13 to 18 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
