Brewery Arts Center to hold auditions

Provided to the Tribune

Auditions for the Brewery Arts Center production of “Love’s Labor’s Lost” are scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the BAC Performance Hall, 511 W. King St. in Carson City. Auditions consist of cold readings from Shakespeare’s play. All roles are open and include men and boys of all ages and women ages 18 to 40.

In Shakespeare’s sumptuous word banquet, the King of Navarre and his three friends swear off women, food and sleep and give themselves over entirely to study.

Their silly vow finds immediate trial by the appearance of four beautiful ladies – one of them the princess of France. Throw in a group of colorful characters, both high and low, and you have romantic bedlam.

Will the four upright scholars resist temptation or will the ladies triumph? Find out in the fantastical, romantic production of “Love’s Labor’s Lost.”
