Bring El Dorado County Fair entries to Library on Friday
Provided to the Tribune
If you chastise yourself when you visit the El Dorado County Fair because your quilt is just as nice as that Blue Ribbon Winner and your vegetable garden would surely have produced award-winning tomatoes, then this is the year to remedy that. At just $1 to $2 per entry for most contests, there are hundreds of opportunities to show off your hidden talents. There are categories for everyone, from showing livestock to arranging flowers to winemaking, for children to seniors, and there is no limit to the number of entries per person.
The last day to file most entry forms is Saturday, May 22; however, Tahoe residents can bring their entry forms or exhibits to the South Lake Tahoe County Library on Friday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The early date allows the Fair staff and department heads to plan exhibit space and decorate exhibit buildings, and to plan for barn stalls to accommodate livestock. Forms and Entry Guides are available on the internet at http://www.ElDoradoCountyFair.com. For more information on how to enter, call the Fair office at 530 621-5860.
Even though entry forms are due by May 22, most actual exhibits are not due until closer to the Fair. A complete schedule of due dates, judging and release dates is included in the Entry Guide.
The El Dorado County Fair will celebrate Wood and Wildflowers June 17 through 20. Discount tickets, including a Dad’s Day package, for the Fair and Carnival will be available at the Library on Friday and at the Fair Box Office until June 16.
