Brooke Laine sworn in to City Council

Former South Lake Tahoe City Councilwoman Brooke Laine was sworn into the council Tuesday. Last week, the council selected Laine to fill the council seat vacated by former councilwoman Claire Fortier.

Laine will serve the remainder of Fortier’s term, which ends in December 2014. She has said she will run for a full, four-year term following the end of her appointment. Laine previously served on the council from 1998 to 2002.

The council selected Laine to serve the appointment over eight other candidates during a special meeting January 29.
