Funeral services will take place Saturday May 6 for Bryan Alan Duffel, who passed away May 1, 2006, at his home in South Lake Tahoe. He was 37.

Bryan was born May 6, 1968, in Concord, Calif. He graduated from San Ramon High School in Danville, Calif., and from junior college in Chico, Calif. He moved to Lake Tahoe in 1989. After his first job at Heavenly Ski Resort Bryan went on to work as a heavy equipment operator for F&B Construction and most recently for Action Construction.

Bryan was an all-around athlete and outdoorsman, who was an all-star soccer player and played on many softball teams in the Lake Tahoe area. He often loved to fish and camp with his faithful dogs, Phish and Star, and many fishing buddies. He will be missed by all who knew him.



He is survived by his wife, Tracie; mother, Barbara; stepfather, Luke; sister, Lori; brother-in-law, Jim; grandmothers, Mildred and Bertie; father, Gary; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Bill and Kelo; uncle, Jerry; and several four-footed friends.

Viewing will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday May 5 at McFarlane Mortuary, 887 Emerald Bay Road, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday May 6 at Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra, 930 Julie Lane. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. May 6 at Hope Lutheran Church. Interment will be at 1 p.m. May 8 at Sunset View Cemetery, 101 Calusa Ave., Berkeley, Calif.
