Bunny Hop planned at Meyers Elementary

Everybunny’s invited to join in the hopping, jumping and dancing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 8. “Bunny Hop 2001” will take place in the Meyers Elementary School multi-purpose room.

This is a family event with an array of activities for all ages. Children from preschool-age and up will have the opportunity to learn a dance and perform it. There will be face painting, games and prizes. All who attend will be able to get up and dance to the oldies and some new songs, too.

The event is a fund-raiser for more than 50 local dancers who will represent Lake Tahoe when they perform at Disneyland this summer. The dancers, known as Lake Tahoe’s Shining Stars from the Marcia Sarosik Dance Studio, have been chosen by Disneyland to perform and will be rehearsing all summer to prepare for their trip. The dancers will put on a short dance performance at Bunny Hop 2001.

Refreshments will be for sale along with a Bunny Boutique. A donation of $5 per family is requested. The dancers hope to make this an annual event, as the group travels and performs every summer.
