Burger King robbed

Christina Proctor

A masked gunman made away with an undisclosed amount of cash after a holdup at the Burger King drive-thru window late Friday evening.

According to the South Lake Tahoe police, when the drive-thru attendant answered a knock at the window around 10:43 p.m. a masked man grabbed onto his shirt and pointed a steel revolver with a long barrel in his side.

The man demanded all the money in the restaurant.

“He’s got a gun; he’s going to shoot me,” the attendant told his supervisor. The attendant and the store supervisor were the only people to witness the incident, police said. The restaurant area closes at 10 p.m. and the drive-thru remains open until 11 p.m.

Police said the supervisor gathered the money from the front cash registers while the robber held the gun on the attendant. The robber then reached through the drive-thru window and took the cash drawer from the closest register and fled the area on foot.

The robber is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, wearing a dark jogging suit with blue gloves.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the South Lake Tahoe Police at (530) 542-6100, or Secret Witness at (530) 541-6800.
