Business partners with Toys for Tots
November 2, 2005
Mail Boxes Etc. at 1034 Emerald Bay Road in the “Y” shopping center, in conjunction with Mail Boxes Etc. locations across the country, has teamed up with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to bring smiles to the faces of children nationwide.
Through Dec. 23, Mail Boxes Etc. will offer customers the opportunity to purchase Toys for Tots donation cards for $1 each, with all proceeds supporting local Toys for Tots efforts.
Mail Boxes Etc. is raising money for Toys for Tots because with many Marines deployed around the world, it’s logistically easier for Toys for Tots to reach more children by purchasing toys at deep discounts through partner companies. In addition to fundraising efforts, Mail Boxes Etc. is collecting new unwrapped toys until Dec. 23, providing an additional opportunity for the community to help local children this holiday season.
“It is rewarding to know our efforts could bring a smile to a local child’s face through the gift of a toy,” said Mail Boxes Etc. franchisee Jim Cotcher. “Carol and I see this as one way we can thank our local community for the support we have enjoyed for the last eight years. Also, with so many of our Marines deployed overseas, we felt it was more important than ever to support this 58-year holiday tradition.”
The Mail Boxes Etc. hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The shop is closed on Sunday.
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 50l(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity is the authorized fundraising and support organization for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. The foundation provides the funding and support needed for successful annual toy collection and distribution campaigns.
