Byron L. Dwelle

Memorial services are planned Saturday for Byron L. Dwelle, who died peacefully Oct. 2, 2007, in Sparks, Nev.

Byron was born July 3, 1926, in Simi Valley, Calif. He had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe since 1978. Byron graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1944, and received a bachelor’s degree in physics from California State University, Fresno. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He enjoyed travel and had visited Paris, his favorite city, many times. Byron made friends easily and everyone enjoyed his storytelling and warm sense of humor. He was a well known patron at many of the local cafés.

He is survived by his daughter, Tamara Hatley of Chatsworth, Calif., and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Byron Dwelle Sr. and Gladys Dwelle.

Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at the home of Lauren Anderson. For directions call Linda at (530) 577-8379.

In lieu of flowers donations in Byron’s memory may be made to Meals on Wheels at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, 96150.
