Cabaret robbers still loose in Carson

Investigators are searching for two men who robbed Slot World’s Cabaret on Winnie Lane at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Two men with masks wielding guns pushed several employees into a bathroom at 9:48 p.m., according to Sheriff’s Department reports. The men, who reportedly both had visible tattoos of scorpions, wore masks. At least one of the men sounded Hispanic, according to reports.

“That’s the same story I heard,” said Cabaret President Dennis Small, confirming the department’s version of events. He said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

He said in the 11 years that Slot World has owned the Cabaret, there have been no previous robberies.

The Cabaret is located at 324 East Winnie Lane. One of the scorpion tattoos was seen on a suspect’s arm, while the other was seen on the neck of the other suspect, according to initial reports. One suspect was wearing green polyester pants and a green pea coat.

The robbers got away in a white Ford van, according to reports.

Sheriff’s Lt. Ray Saylo said the department is reviewing surveillance tapes from the Cabaret. He said the ethnicity of the robbers is still unknown.

This is the third robbery in North Carson City in the past six weeks and the second on Winnie Lane. The Subway Sandwich shop at Carson and Winnie was robbed on May 27. The U.S. Post Office inside Kmart was robbed on June 25.
