California campaign wants to include LTVA

The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority Board of Directors will meet Wednesday for a special meeting to consider participation in a California statewide tourism campaign.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the LTVA Conference Room at 1156 Ski Run Blvd.

The IMAX Events proposal includes a request for $22,500 from the LTVA over a three-year period.

The project is a promotion of the large-screen IMAX film “The California Experience” that was partly filmed at Lake Tahoe. About 35 premiere events are planned in 20 cities, both in the United States and internationally.

The film is intended to highlight the state’s sesquicentennial celebration and promote California as an unrivaled business and travel destination.

Participation in the funding will provide the LTVA with the opportunity to highlight Lake Tahoe at the premiere events and other sales opportunities.

For more information, call the LTVA office at (530) 544-5050.
