Camp helps grieving children

Barton Hospital Foundation is introducing Camp Sunrise, a child grief camp for children 6 to 14 who have experienced the death of a family member.

These children will receive grief education and support, working through any bereavement issues they may have, and it will leave them with a positive outlook for the future.

Camp Sunrise is founded on the understanding that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a safe, supportive and understanding environment. The camp will be at Galilee Camp & Conference Center in Glenbrook Aug. 25 to 27, beginning late Friday afternoon and ending midday on Sunday. Residents of the South Lake Tahoe, Stateline, Minden, Gardnerville and Alpine County areas may apply.

Registration ends June 1. To register or for details call Monica at (530) 543-5601 or go to http://www.bartonhealth.org and print out the form.
