Camp offers summer fun
Douglas County Parks & Recreation still has openings for its many adventures with the Summer R.A.D. Camp. Camp will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday until Aug. 18 at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade. Call (775) 586-7271.
The program is open to children ages 6 to 12. The cost is $20 per day with a daily registration. Camp shirts and water bottles will be available for a nominal fee. Daily activities include:
Monday – Beach days to Sand Harbor to catch crawdads and enjoy some beach fun.
Tuesday – Hike and swim at such places as Angora Lakes, Lazy 5 Water Play Park, Davis Creek and Bowers Mansion.
Wednesday – Field Trip Day. Wild Island Water Park, M.S. Dixie, Coconut Bowl, Circus Circus, Shakespeare at Sand Harbor, just to name a few.
Thursday – Special Event Theme Days -10 Ways to Chill Out, Mad Scientists, Ghosts, Ghouls and Things That Scream.
Friday – Arts & Crafts followed by lunch and an afternoon at Carson Valley Swim Center.
