Camps for performing arts set to begin this Tuesday
Performing art camps for youths are scheduled this summer at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade. Diane Lesniak will offer three two-week sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning July 3.
Adventure Club, designed for ages 3 to 5, is for children with energy, enthusiasm and interest in acting out stories. Each session campers will explore a different theme using costumes and props to awaken the imagination, build vocabulary and develop motor skills. Classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon.
Youths ages 6 to 9 can participate in Get in the Act Productions from 1 to 4 p.m. This class will give students a broad and applicable knowledge of basic acting skills through theater games, voice and movement and improvisation. Classes are $80 per session.
Students wll present a free outside performance of “The Wizard of Oz” from 3:30 to 4 p.m. July 5. Dorothy, the Wicked Witch, Scarecrow, Lion and Tinman were all be there. Attendees should bring a chair.
