Canadian singer to have holiday show
The Churchill Arts Council will present a performance by the critically acclaimed Canadian chanteuse, Holly Cole, at 8 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Barkley Theater at Oats Park Art Center, 151 East Park Street, Fallon. Doors open at 7 p.m. and there will be a no-host bar.
Cole is the recipient of a 2004 Juno Award (the Canadian Grammy) for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. She is known for her sly, sultry and sexy voice and the breadth of her repertoire, which ranges from Gershwin and Cole Porter to Tom Waits and the Beach Boys. She consistently proves that delivering a lyric is as much a creative art as writing one. She will perform songs from several of her award winning CDs as well as a selection of holiday tunes.
Tickets are $17 for CAC members and $20 for non-members. They are available by calling CAC at (775) 423-1440.
CAC programs and activities are sponsored, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Nevada Arts Council. US Bancorp Foundation, the Nevada Commission on Tourism and the Fallon Convention & Tourism Authority.
