Cancer League candy sales continue into next week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Need that last minute gift or hostess remembrance? Look at what the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League has to offer.

The Cancer League has been conducting its annual famous name candy sale – better known as See’s candy – since the middle of November. The candy serves as a perfect gift for the upcoming holidays. Proceeds from each box of candy go toward cancer patient care for people living at the South Shore.

The league helps patients from Glenbrook, Nev., to the El Dorado/Placer County line in California by providing transportation to Truckee, Reno/Sparks, Carson City/Minden/Gardnerville, UC Davis and South Lake Tahoe for physician appointments and treatments, such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, etc. The League also provides Limited Financial Assistance Grants to patients in its service area.

The candy is available at 2358 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe, adjacent to Grocery Outlet. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Phone number is 530-542-4649. The store will be open through Dec. 24.

Other locations to purchase the candy are: Nel’s Hardware, Champion Floors to Go, A Massage for All Seasons, Romero’s Barber Shop, Sessions Beauty Salon, Allure, From Head to Toe, The Clipper, Altitude Salon & Spa, Substitute Personnel, The New Wave, Studio 6 Hair Design, David W.
