Candy Dance Arts and Crafts Faire returns to Genoa this weekend

Downtown Genoa is the location for the 89th annual Genoa Candy Dance Arts and Crafts Faire this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission is free; parking in designated lots is $5 per vehicle.

The Faire will feature more than 350 juried arts and crafts booths, activity booths and food booths, plus 4,000 pounds of Genoa’s famous home-made candy.

The annual Candy Dance Dinner Dance will be on Saturday evening, Sept. 26, from 4-10 p.m., in the Genoa Town Park, for those who purchased tickets in advance.



During the Genoa Candy Dance weekend, Sept. 26-27, roads leading into Genoa will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at these locations:

* Foothill Road at Candy Dance Lane



* Genoa Lane at Kinsey Way

* Jacks Valley Road at the Genoa Cemetery

Parking in lots at the road closure locations is $5 per vehicle, with free round-trip shuttles to and from Genoa. Shuttle service will begin at 8 a.m. and run until 5 p.m.

Free parking will be available at the Carson Valley Inn and Douglas High School in Minden, with round-trip airport mini-bus shuttles for $2 per person between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
