Car wash benefit Monday for family of slain Army Sgt. Timothy Smith

A car wash to benefit the wife and child of slain Iraq War veteran Army Sgt. Timothy “Timmy” Smith will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, May 26, at the Lake Tahoe Unified School District school bus barn on Al Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.

Smith was killed April 7, after a roadside bomb exploded during routine patrol in Baghdad. He was 25 and a 2001 graduate of South Tahoe High School.

This is a group effort of the Lake Tahoe Community College Fire Academy cadets.
