Caregiver group meets

Provided to the Tribune

The El Dorado County Caregiver Support Group meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Providing care for an elderly friend or family member can be exhausting and stressful. In this monthly group participants will have the opportunity to get to know and support each other while learning.

The support group offers: tips for caring for someone with Alzheimer’s and/or other dementias; how to care for yourself while caring for another; how to establish realistic goals and expectations; and where to turn in the community for help.

The group is facilitated by Penny Huber, Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California, and Tammy Bragg, El Dorado County Family Caregiver Support Program. For details call Huber at (530) 541-2304 or Bragg at (530) 621-6151.
