Funeral services were held July 15 for Carl Nolan Pointer, who died July 12, 2004, at Kaiser Hospital, South Sacramento, Calif. He was 79.

Mr. Pointer was born Feb. 20, 1925, at Belle, Mo. He had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe from 1975 to 2000, when he moved to Rocklin, Calif. He was a supervisor in transportation with the Department of the Navy for many years and worked in security for 10 years at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Bonnie Pointer of Vacaville, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Richard Hobbs of Rio Linda, Calif.; grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Jason, Elysha and Cathryn; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Al; and companion, Mildred Verstraeten. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Frances.

Interment is scheduled July 21 at Liberty Cemetery in Belle, Mo., where he will be buried next to his mother and father.
