Carolers are kicking off holidays this weekend

Provided to the Tribune

South Lake Tahoe’s merry carolers will provide festive songs of the season at the Valhalla Holiday Faire at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Valhalla Grand Hall.

The group will sing Christmas carols and an ancient Hanukkah song. This is the fifth anniversary for the Tahoe songsters, who have provided entertainment, along with local children’s choirs, at the Valhalla Holiday Faire.

The a cappella singing group includes South Lake Tahoe residents Lucy DuPertuis, Lianna, Jan Lynds, John Roos, Pamela Taylor and daughter Amanda Taylor and Tom and Mary Kay Aufrance, formerly of South Lake Tahoe.

The faire features 40 booths of handcrafted wares in the beautifully decorated Valhalla Grand Hall.

Admission is free. Faire hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
