Carson City man injured in accident

A 45-year-old man from Carson City was seriously injured after he lost control of his motorcycle Sunday afternoon riding east on State Route 88 less than a mile past Blue Lakes Road.

Steven Ray Parsons reportedly told a California Highway Patrol officer that he was ejected from his 1978 Honda because its rear wheel locked up. CHP reported that Parsons was conscious at the scene, but had broken ribs, a broken sternum and a head injury. Paramedics took Parsons to Barton Memorial Hospital where he was taken by a CareFlight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center in Reno. He was listed in fair condition Monday.

The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. CHP officers had to close one lane of the road for about 45 minutes.
