Carson man dies after accident near Cave Rock
A 26-year-old Carson City man died after a car accident along Highway 50 near Cave Rock on Wednesday, a deputy with the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
Andrew Fulmer died at 10 a.m. at Washoe Medical Center due to injuries he suffered when his car rolled over at 1:06 a.m., the deputy said.
Fulmer was the driver and lone occupant of a blue Isuzu, which was east-bound along the highway when it drifted toward the edge.
He was taken by a CareFlight helicopter to Washoe Medical Center where he was initially listed in critical condition.
“(Fulmer) overcorrected the vehicle several times, striking a metal roadway sign and metal paddle marker before the vehicle overturned,” stated Trooper Nick Nordyke.
The Isuzu ended up on its right side on the westbound lanes. Trooper Todd Hartline said authorities don’t know if alcohol was a factor. Fulmer was wearing his seat belt.
“Right now it appears that he was asleep,” Hartline said.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking information from witnesses or anybody who has information on the crash and is asking them to call (775) 688-2500.
