Carson Valley Trails Association plans its annual Hike for Health fundraiser

The Carson Valley Trails Association is making plans for the fourth annual Hike for Health fundraiser for the Genoa Foothill Trail System project. The Hike for Health will include two events – silent and live auction from 5 to 8 p.m. April 22 at the Genoa Town Hall, and a month-long Trails Challenge that kicks off at the April 22 auction event and ends on May 23 with a family barbecue at Lampe Park in Gardnerville.

The auction event on April 22 will include silent and live auctions, live music performed by Genoa’s Foothill Road, refreshments and a no-host bar. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are needed. Participants can sign up to hike, walk, jog, run or ride. Weekly guided hikes, walks and trail adventures are planned for participants, beginning on April 24 and continuing through May 22. Registration is $25 for adults age 18 and older; free for age 17 and under.

Detailed information about the Trails Challenge is available online at http://www.carsonvalleytrails.org, or by contacting Chic and Sue Moxley at (775) 265-0766.
