Cash mob to take place at Kingsbury Hardware

TahoeChamber will host its next Ca$h Mob on Wednesday.

This month’s location is Kingsbury Hardware on Kingsbury Grade, which was once Scotty’s and is under new ownership. The entire store, minus propane, will be offering a 10 percent discount, along with free bratwurst, chips, and refreshments.

TahoeChamber started the Ca$h Mob trend in South Lake Tahoe almost a year ago as a way to infuse money back into the local economy one business at a time. The locations are chosen in advance, and the business owners are notified so that they have time to prepare for the mob. The mob is usually announced a few days beforehand and has brought in crowds as large as 50 people at a time. More than two of the locations have raised about $500 more than they would have without the mob.

The mob will arrive at noon. Kingsbury Hardware is located at 264 Kingsbury Grade.
