Cement truck wreck on S.R. 28

Gregory Crofton

A loaded cement truck rolled onto its side Monday morning between Sand Harbor and Incline Village and shut down both lanes of State Route 28 for four hours.

The driver, Peter Stanfield, 33, of Carson City, suffered a minor head injury and was transported to Incline Health Center. His truck did not lose any cement mix, said Scott Magruder, spokesman for Nevada Department of Transportation.

The accident was reported at 7:40 a.m. after Stanfield lost control of his truck in the northbound lane. The road was closed until a tow truck capable of moving the cement hauler arrived at the scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the wreck, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Troy Lindley.
