Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from Twin Bridges to Meyers in El Dorado County.

Interstate 80

Eastbound: Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from Kingvale to the Donner Lake interchange.

Westbound: Chains are required on all vehicles except four-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels from the Donner Lake interchange to 3 miles west of Kingvale.

California Route 89

Is closed from Eagle Point campground to Bayview campground due to avalanche control.
