Chamber meeting to address regional issues

Regional issues will be a recurring theme Thursday during the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting. The meeting begins at 8 a.m. at Horizon Casino Resort.

Rick Angelocci, chief of project review for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, will report on effort to streamline the agency’s permit process. Chamber Executive Director Duane Wallace will discuss the federal advisory committee organizing the Lake Tahoe positions relating to promises made during the 1997 Presidential Forum on Lake Tahoe.

And the board will discuss the results of the lakewide public opinion surveys and forums regarding the 20 possible revenue sources for environmental improvements identified in the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s Alternative Revenue Source Phase 1 study. Phase 2 will take a closer look at a shortened list.

In other business, the chamber directors will hear about an offer to partner with Visa to create and promote a Lake Tahoe credit card, and the progress to construct community ball fields at the former Meyers dump.

For more information, call the chamber office at (530) 541-5255.
