Chamber mixer set for Camp Richardson

A joint chamber mixer will be held at the Camp Richardson Resort March 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe-Douglas chambers of commerce will be hosting the public event, which includes food and beverages provided by the Beacon Bar and Grill and tours of Camp Richardson’s historic rooms.

Candidates for the South Lake Tahoe Chamber board of directors will be on hand, along with Tahoe-Douglas chamber members.

The new Stateline area-centered board, led by Bill Chernock of M.S. Dixie as the president replacing Heavenly Ski Resort Communications Manager Monica Bandows, will be installed for service May 10. The South Shore chamber is currently accepting ballots from its membership and will close its election April 10.

Chamber Executive Director Duane Wallace expects a 40 percent turnout on the election. Seventeen high-profile candidates from varying backgrounds are vying for 10 slots on the board.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune will identify the candidates and the new Tahoe-Douglas board on its business page to run Monday.
