Chambers Forum rescheduled

The Joint Chamber State of the Basin Forum and luncheon has been rescheduled for Feb. 23.

The event, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was canceled due to heavy snow and dangerous driving conditions. Anyone who paid for reservations and are unable to attend on the new date can receive a refund by calling the Tahoe-Douglas Chamber of Commerce office at (775) 588-4591.

The rescheduled event, co-sponsored by the Tahoe-Douglas and South Lake Tahoe Chambers of Commerce, will also be held at the Special Events Center at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

New reservations can be made until Feb. 19 by calling the Tahoe-Douglas Chamber of Commerce.

The forum and luncheon, along with an evening forum scheduled for Feb. 23 at Lakeside Inn & Casino beginning at 6 p.m., will focus on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Alternative Revenue Source Study Phase 1.

The study, completed in August and partially paid for with contributions from the chambers and other business and governmental organizations, identified 20 potential revenue sources to pay for environmental improvements. During the forums, participants will have the opportunity to vote on the funding sources they consider most viable. The TRPA will consider the input from the forums, as well as other forums being held around the lake, to narrow the list for additional research in Phase 2 of the study.
