Chambers get some coaching

Monday’s joint meeting of the area chambers of commerce was hailed by South Lake Tahoe Chamber Executive Director Duane Wallace as successful.

Michael Davis, consulting psychologist, facilitator and featured speaker, took the group of about 30 through a series of presentations and group activities designed to aid in success of business ventures.

Members of the El Dorado, El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs-Cameron Park, South Lake Tahoe, and Tahoe-Douglas chamber of commerce, as well as city and county representatives and private business owners attended the seminar at Tahoe Seasons Resort.

Wallace, whose chamber hosted the meeting, said he hoped the seminar would break down some of the barriers that exist between the several chambers which have a common interest and goal.

The group participated in such activities as group problem solving and cooperation exercises.

This meeting was one of an ongoing series of semi-annual gatherings between the chambers. The first one, billed as Visioning for the Twenty-First Century, was held on Nov. 3, 1997 and was hosted by the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce.

Monday’s meeting was called Attitudes and Altitudes, Building the Bridges to Solutions.
